Singer Room
The closets are an unusual feature of the Singer family bedroom. Few houses had them. The color on the doors of the closets is original. The old horse hair plaster has been left inside to show what it looked like.
The bed is a child’s bed, poster with spindles. It is squared, with turned posts. The bed is a Singer family heirloom.
The handmade plank bottom rocker is made of pine with a wide scalloped back.
The little child’s chair has a cowhide seat, slat or ladder back. It is primitive and early. It is also a Singer family piece.
The three-legged stool is handmade.
The chest is an Empire period piece.
